Politika karmaşık bir konudur, ancak sıklıkla tartışılan bir konudur. Bu nedenle, İngilizce konuştuğunuzda daha güvenli hissetmek için siyasetle ilgili bazı temel terimleri öğrenmek faydalı olacaktır. Bunlardan önemli ve temel olduğunu düşündüklerimiz aşağıdaki gibidir:

  • Citizen (Vatandaş)

  • Legislature (Yasama Organı)

Legislatures form important parts of most governments; in the separation of powers model, they are often contrasted with the executive and judicial branches of government.

  • Coalition (Koalisyon)

They are working to form a coalition government.

  • Majority/Minority (Çoğunluk/Azınlık)

They have taken 18 seats, and we have accepted 16 as the leading minority party.

  • Congress (Meclis Oturumu) 

After much debate, Congress passed the bill.

  • Debate (Müzakere)

There is growing debate over religion in schools.

The congressional debate is on TV.

  • Parliament (Meclis)

Two members of the parliament were removed from office.

The issue was debated in Parliament.

  • Congressman (Milletvekili)

Congressman Tom Downey is a Democrat from New York.

  • Ballot (Oy)

The party leader is elected by a secret ballot.

We have to count all of the ballots.

  • Constitution (Anayasa)

Britain has an unwritten constitution, and the United States has a written constitution.

There have been major changes in the constitution, but the system remains democratic.

  • Policy (Politika)

What is the Labour Party’s policy on immigration?

The government has dismissed criticisms that the country’s health policy is a mess.

  • Council (Meclis)

The party is expecting to gain control of the council in the next election.

  • Proposal (Yasa tasarısı)

  • Public Opinion (Kamuoyu)
